Mike's a 55-year East Brunswick Resident. He knows EB. He volunteers. He loves seeing the community and township thrive. He has been and will continue to be a devoted public servant for East Brunswick. Two pillars of his re-election campaign are fiscal responsibility and commitment to our future.
Councilman Spadafino has been a resident of East Brunswick for 55 years. Mike was a former East Brunswick science teacher and track and football coach. He is a local business owner as a Chiropractic Physician, volunteered on the East Brunswick Health Advisory Council, is a parishioner of St. Bartholomew Church, and is a charter member of St. Bartholomew's Knights of Columbus. His wife, Kathleen, taught music at East Brunswick High School for over 30 years. As can be seen, Mike knows East Brunswick.
Along with Mayor Brad Cohen, Councilman Sterley Stanley, and the rest of the township council, Mike has worked diligently to hold the line on taxes and to improve services. He has used every tool at his disposal to achieve this. He understands the unique challenges we face during this pandemic.
As a 55-year EB resident, Mike has seen several transformations of our town -- some good, others not so good. The vision of Mayor Cohen and Mike and his fellow council members to revitalize the Route 18 corridor will be a very positive change for our town, bringing in new ratables and businesses to our business district. The Redevelopment Plan is well underway, and in response there has been a dramatic increase in new businesses in town. Our engineering department has been revamped to be more responsive to new businesses, and the re-established, strong Chamber of Commerce currently has almost 200 members.
Safety is a high priority to Mike. Mike has worked to expand the police force for our residents' protection and security. Mike is immensely proud of our award-winning police department, which has high marks for transparency, community outreach, and communication.
Mike and the current township governing administration recognize that families move to East Brunswick for the outstanding schools, library, and cultural opportunities. Mike's plan is to protect and improve these town staples in the future.
Mike is a member of the Redevelopment Commission, Recreation and Parks Committee, the Museum Committee, St. Bartholomew Knights of Columbus, and he is on the Board of Directors for the East Brunswick Lions Club and East Brunswick Chamber of Commerce.
